SMMC Visiting Nurses

SMMC Visiting Nurses offers a wide variety of compassionate, skilled nursing and clinical services for patients throughout York County. Since SMMC Visiting Nurses was founded in 1909 as the Kennebunk Public Health Association, we have maintained a deep commitment to ensuring dignified, compassionate home care to residents, young and old, throughout York County. Registered nurses teach, supervise, coordinate referrals and provide skilled care in concert with physicians and other health care professionals, including physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers and home health aides. Our goal is to assist patients in returning to independent living as soon as they are ready. In 1996, we affiliated with Southern Maine Medical Center and became known as Southern Maine Health & Homecare Services. In 2004, we updated our name to SMMC Visiting Nurses to better reflect the nature of our services.
