The Spirit of Philanthropy

Every culture depends on philanthropy and nonprofit organizations to provide essential elements of healthcare.

SMMC is very fortunate to have the support of hundreds of donors who believe in us and our commitment to provide the best healthcare services and technologies available. Thanks to the support of our donors, we are able to offer important programs and services that otherwise would not be possible.

To all our friends, volunteers and supporters: Thank you for your kind generosity. Without you, we could not succeed as the leading healthcare provider in York County!

Making a Gift
A gift to the Annual Fund program may be designated as unrestricted (used where the need is greatest) or it can be designated to support specific programs or services. You may personalize your gift by making it in memory or honor of an individual. All donors, unless they wish to remain anonymous, are recognized for their generosity in the Southern Maine Medical Center Annual Report. Giving Levels are:
  • President's Circle ($10,000+)
  • Founder ($5,000-$9,999)
  • Patron ($1000-$4999)
  • Benefactor ($300-$999)
  • Sustainer ($100-$299)
  • Friend (up to $99)

    Planned Gifts
Planned gifts can be an effective means of providing tax savings and financial benefits to you and your family while also providing for a charitable gift to SMMC. If you are considering a planned gift, you should consult your attorney or financial advisor before making decisions about whether such a gift meets your specific needs and desire to support SMMC.

The success of our Annual Giving program is truly a reflection of a devoted and caring community's unwavering support for the people that we serve. If you are considering becoming a donor or would just like more information about the hospital through our mailings and newsletters, please contact Melissa Nadeau, SMMC's Development Coordinator, by phone: (207) 283-7235 or e-mail.
