SMMC's Volunteers Make a Difference
Volunteers come from many different backgrounds, are of all ages and each has something
special to offer!
The Role of a Volunteer
More than 200 men and women from all over York County volunteer at SMMC. Whether they
help a few hours a month or several days a week, volunteers provide the vital link between
the hospital and the people we serve. Some volunteers work in areas where they are in
direct contact with patients. Others are involved in "behind the scenes"
activities which enhance the care provided by the hospital. Whatever type of service, SMMC
is enriched by the volunteer's personal touch! SMMC volunteers are important members of
the hospital's health care team.
