The Auxiliary
The SMMC Auxiliary has been an integral part of the hospital family since 1907, raising over $1,000,000 since 1991.
The Auxiliary consists of friends of the hospital, from former patients, employees, physicians' family members, and neighbors.
They live in the community, from Wells to Old Orchard Beach. Each believes in the importance of quality, community health care
that provides the latest in diagnostic and treatment technology.
The Auxiliary's main projects include the operation of The Pill Box, SMMC's gift shop,
the annual SMMC Benefit Golf Tournament, and Tree of Life, which supports the Lifeline Program.
Other projects throughout the year augment the Auxiliary treasury. The donations fund specific programs or help to increase the service levels for patients at SMMC.
The SMMC Auxiliary always welcomes new members. They began as a group of 31 and now boast a membership of more than 300.
